Arvidsjaur Survival Camp

South of the Arctic Circle, a special experience is awaiting you: survival training in the seemingly never-ending woodlands of Swedish Lapland. Arvidsjaur is well-known as the location of the Swedish Mountain Infantry Regiment K4 - for one of the toughest and most effective training for survival specialists. Under professional supervision, you and your customers or employees can gain from an experience that might just change the rest of your lives. Go ahead and get involved in your own personal "Hell Week"!

Depending on the season, a special training program is awaiting you which will bring every single participant to his/her own personal limits. However, team spirit is always the focus. You can only meet the requirements of the coming days together as a team. You will set out in the wilderness at the Arctic Circle with only minimum equipment. In the winter and spring, you will have skis, scooters, or snowshoes as your means of transportation - in the summer and autumn, you must go on foot. There are several possibilities for accommodations depending on the season and according to your personal requests: snow bivouac or bivouac, tent, or traditional Sami wooden structure called a kote.

On this evening you will learn about the culture of the indigenous people of Lapland, the Sami. In addition, you will spend the night on reindeer skins in the Sami camp in Båtsuoj, in a type of wooden structure called a kote. You will partake in a traditional Sami meal and the Sami tour guide, Ms. Lotta Svensson will tell you about the life of the Sami people then and now, about reindeer husbandry, Sami customs and the shamanism of the past. During your stay at the Arctic Circle, you will learn the various orientation techniques, have your first experiences in tracking, learn in summer and autumn which mushrooms and berries are edible without having any second thoughts and how you can catch and prepare a delicious fish using the simplest means.

We will put together just the right program for you and your Survival Camp and, no need to worry, we will also ensure your safety at all times. Upon request, we can also include an additional highlight in the program for you on one day - a helicopter flight. Here you will be picked up by the helicopter at a previously arranged location and flown back to your base camp. The flight across Lapland´s Fjäll that has many lakes and seemingly unending woodlands is a fabulous experience.

After a brief conversion, we will be glad to work out a detailed program with you. However, it is important to know what physical shape the participants are in, what expectations and notions you have. And as always, the rule is: Safety first! This program is designed for groups of 6 to 12 persons. It is entirely your decision whether it will be a "Soft Week" or a "Hell Week" - but we can guarantee you one thing: You might come to us as a group of individualists but you will leave Lapland and the Artic Circle as a team!
