Experience 2007
In the following, please allow us to point out one possibility for a weekend event. Of course, you may change individual basic elements. For example, hotels etc. may be changed, entire activities replaced by others. We simply would like to show you just one of a thousand possibilities.
Minimum number of participants: 10 persons
Day 1 | Friday
The passengers for the Experience meet - hopefully with winter clothing in their suitcases - at the airport offered by FlyCar: Munich and Stuttgart 8:00 am, Hanover and Frankfurt-Hahn 9:00 am or Paris (please inquire as to the times).
The aircraft will start around 8:30am (from Stuttgart and Munich) or 10:00 am (from Hanover and Hahn) for an approximately 3 ½ or 2 ½ hour flight respectively to Lapland, where temperatures of down to -25° C are typical for this time of year. (If you begin your journey from our main airport in Frankfurt-Hahn, we can also start with a champagne breakfast at the airport. Of course, it is also possible to schedule this at another of the airports we fly to; however, you must then have this catered by a third party.) At the airport in Arvidsjaur (a small airport in the middle of the Lapland wilderness), you can have a reception with champagne, coffee, and a light snack. The organizer from FlyCar will join you there (if desired). Then you will be taken to the Ice Hotel.
On the approximately 4 hour journey, the group can get an initial impression of Sweden´s beautiful unspoiled nature. The participants will be receive a light meal typical for the region (lunch package) with reindeer meat and drinks etc. (a proper lunch at a restaurant can of course also be planned, if desired). Along the way, we will stop at the Arctic Circle. Each participant will receive a certificate from the Arctic Circle. When we arrive at the hotel, the participants will check into their double rooms and can rest after the trip before a evening meal of Swedish specialties entices you to the table.
You will then have the rest of the evening at your disposal: You may have a look around the ICE Hotel, gaze in wonder at the Northern Lights, listen to the howling of the wolves, spend the evening in the cinema of the ICE Hotel or in ICE Bar or just relax while you snuggle into thick fur blankets in the beds carved out of blocks of ice. The choice is yours! An extraordinary experience! If it is too cold for you, you may also spend the night in one of the heated log cabins located near the hotel. A log cabin near the ice hotel is available for guests to unload their luggage, change clothes, or to spend the night if it gets too cold. Instead of the ICE Hotel in Kiruna, you might also choose the Snowcastle in Kemi or an ice breaker excursion followed by dinner on the ice.
Day 2 | Saturday
Following a sumptuous breakfast, travelers may also have a look the various rooms and facilities in the ICE Hotel, then the bus will start with the Experience travelers to GALLIVARE to the scooter safari ranch*, which has been managed for three years by a 5-man team from Germany. After arrival and check-in at the scooter ranch and following lunch in the afternoon, the group will receive their warm clothing such as overalls, caps, safety glasses etc. for the snowmobile tour and will get familiarized with the workings of the snowmobiles.
After the participants have bundled up, the tour can begin through the fascinating wide-open landscapes of Lapland, through picturesque, snowy forests and over frozen lakes. There will also be an outdoor barbeque and a coffee break in the Dundret National Park. Then the group heads back to the ranch. The visitors can indulge in a trip to the sauna to get warmed up again and to relax the parts of the body that jostled on the snowmobile. After a relaxing dinner, participants may visit the folklore show or celebrate in the Lapland nightclub located nearby. Scooter tours may also be combined with dog sled tours or reindeer sleigh tours.
Day 3 | Sunday
Participants will start, following a sumptuous breakfast, of course, to the highlight of the experience, the grand tour. Here, the group will pass the highest point in Lapland between Gallivare and Kiruna. You might encounter foxes, elk or even wolves. A traditionally Swedish lunch will be served on a frozen lake in the middle of the wilderness. Following the tour, the sauna is available once again for everyone. Participants can relax here, before the evening meal and then they can have a drink by the fireplace and converse with other participants about the experiences of the day.
4. Tag | Monday
After having breakfast together and saying goodbye to the friendly scooter crew, the group will take the bus to Arvidsjaur. (the Mercedes-Benz driver safety camp is located about 2 ½ hours from Arvidsjaur and (with arrangement in advance) the group can take a test drive. Then after the Museum, there will be a visit to a reindeer slaughterhouse and then it is off to the airport where the heated airplane will be waiting to take to back to the Hahn Airport.
